LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Vice President Mike Pence made a quick trip to the capital city Friday to campaign for its congressman.
“Arkansas and America need to see French Hill back on Capitol Hill,” Pence told the crowd of several hundred Hill supporters at the Statehouse Convention Center. “He always puts Arkansas first.”
The vice president touted the 2nd congressional district representative’s record and the Trump administration’s successes, including a stronger military and the 2017 tax cuts.
“America is back,” he said. “And we’re just getting started.”
Other notable Arkansas lawmakers stumped for Congressman Hill, including Sen. Tom Cotton and 4th Congressional District Rep. Bruce Westerman, as well as the governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.
Hill’s speech on why he deserves a third term in office was briefly interrupted by a handful of protesters, who were escorted out by police.
